Itinerary

DAY 1 Kota Kinabalu / Resort

Pick Up  and meet at your hotel lobby or airport at 1200hr and 2hrs journey through scenic villages, valleys and Crocker mountain ranges to Kinabalu park. Stop by Nabalu Market where local sell tropical fruits and handicraft souvenirs. Check into Mount Kinabalu Heritage Resort. Rest of the day is your own leisure. Dinner at the resort Restaurant.

Accommodation: Lemaing Hut (Non-heated Very Basic Dormitory)

DAY 2

Breakfast at the Resort and  collect your  packed lunch proceeds to Park Headquarters for registration. Our guide will assist you for registration, apply ID tag and assign the mountain guide. Arrive at Timpohon Gate  (1800 meters above sea level) to begin 6.5km (Timpohon) to Laban Rata rest houses, stopping every 1km for drinks/toilet breaks. Buffet dinner at Laban Rata Rest house. Check in Lemaing Hut (Basic Non-Heated Dormitory)

* If you arrive after 7 pm you will receive dinner packed only.

DAY 3

LEMAING HUT > LOWS PEAK > PARK HQ > KOTA KINABALU

Wake up for buffet supper as early 1.00am. At 2.30am, begin 3.2km climb to summit (4095 meters). YOU MUST REACH SAYAT-SAYAT CHECKPOINT  BEFORE 5.00am CUT OFF TIME. Park ranger will close the summit gate after cut off time. Watch sun rise at the summit of Mount Kinabalu. Begin descend to Laban Rata for buffet breakfast. Trek down to Timpohon Gate and have lunch at Balsam Restaurant . Transfer back to your KK hotel for approx 2hours.

** Lunch will be converted to packed lunch on Day 2 (Mt Kinabalu Descent) for climbers who arrived late and missed the lunch timing. Lunch time : 1200 - 1630hr.

Packing List

For your comfort and well-being, it is important that you are suitably prepared and equipped for the trip. From as low as 3ºC in the wee hours of the morning to as high as 23ºC in the daytime, the weather on the mountain can range from sunny to misty to foggy. But even when it rains, it can create stunning visual treats with cascading waterfalls – a sight to behold on Mt Kinabalu.

While MOUNTAIN TORQ will provide all technical safety equipment required for its activities, you can refer to this checklist on what you should bring for personal items. These are what mountain hikers would normally pack for a trip.
